I oversee our Designer, Denim, Active, and Tee departments on the website by partnering with the buying team to merchandise product pages. We also work with Marketing to set up digital assets.
How did your internships shape your career path?
I completed three internships while at LIM. My sophomore year, I was a Fashion Closet Intern at O, the Oprah Magazine. Junior year, I was a Social Media Intern at a small e-commerce boutique. For my Senior Co-op, I interned in e-commerce at John Varvatos. Through these internships, I grew really interested in e-commerce. I liked working with computer systems and saw a big career opportunity, as it鈥檚 a rapidly evolving industry.
What advice would you give someone considering a career in your field?
Shop online! The e-commerce industry is rapidly evolving, and there has been so much innovation in technology that enhances personalization in the shopping experience. Knowing what competitors are doing is really important, and it also inspires you to apply those new ideas to your own business.
Are you working remotely now? How has that transition gone?
I鈥檓 fortunate to have the ability to work remotely, and have been doing so for over a month. Since I work in digital, all my work is done via computer anyway, which has made for a smooth transition.
Do you have tips for others who are adjusting to remote work?
Mute your microphone if you鈥檙e not speaking in a meeting! Also, nothing is normal right now, so it鈥檚 okay to give yourself a little leeway.
