���Ҵ�ý���߹ۿ����

When I arrived at the venue that day, it was very hectic. People were running around everywhere trying to get the models in order. They were first put in hair and makeup. The makeup artists worked diligently to bring out the model’s facial features while still sticking to the designer’s vision. They’d also been doing multiple practice runs and dress rehearsals. I, alongside my LIM peers, were each assigned a model to help put their outfits in place.

I was immediately put to work, as our supervisor assigned each of us our model, to dress and make runway-ready. They monitored us closely! If they saw we were a fast worker, we’d get switched to the “quick change” station, for the models that had a second look and needed to be changed quickly. 

The outfits in the collection were amazing. Each seemed like it was made just for the model wearing it. The artistic details that were embellished into the fabric were very unique. Most had a shiny, sheer material on their body, with silver accessories and cutting-edge style. 

I even got to meet the designer, Natalie De’Banco, who had created these amazing outfits. She came backstage to oversee how they looked on each of the models before the show began. 

While it was a lot of work, it was a great experience. The fast-paced environment was thrilling, and I felt really accomplished after the show was complete, because of how I was able to contribute to the production of the show. I think all the other ���Ҵ�ý���߹ۿ���� volunteers would agree with me! 

If you ever want to get your foot in the door of the fashion industry, I’d say that volunteering for New York Fashion Week would be a great start!
