Peer Advising Leader (PAL)
About the role:
PALs promote Student Life's mission and purpose, communicate the services available within the Academic Advising Office, and serve as an academic resource and mentor for new and current LIM students.
PAL Role & Responsibilities:

- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Ability to work effectively & collaboratively with diverse groups of people
- Serve as a role model for incoming students
- Facilitate new students' introduction to the college by maintaining an open, helpful attitude & using effective communication techniques
- Work closely and cooperate with other Orientation Leaders, Student Orientation Coordinators, supervisors, and other campus administrators to develop, prepare, implement, and evaluate Orientation programs
- Facilitate social activities for new students through direct involvement and participation
Orientation Leader & First Year Mentor
About the role:
This position supports first-year orientation and transition initiatives including co-leading first-year experience class(s), LIMS 1000. As a subject matter expert, leaders will facilitate small group discussions, share information through presentations, assist in the advising and registration process, serve on panels for students or parents/families, coordinate connection activities, help create a successful first six weeks of class programming for first-year students. As first-year mentors supporting the First Year Experience class LIMS 1000, co-leading small group discussions and activities along with other social and educational activities. Leaders support first-year students in the transition process and serve as a resource.

- Year-long commitment with special emphasis on the Orientation programs in June, July, August, and January as well as Weeks of Welcome, student leadership engagement, and the Mentor Training/Retreat. There are also opportunities for participation in additional activities throughout the year.
International Orientation Leader
About the role:
The International Orientation Leaders assists with planning and executing International Student Orientation, other small projects, and leading discussions with incoming students. The IOL will support international students in their academic, personal, social, and cultural transition from their home countries to life at LIM.
IOL Role & Responsibilities:
- Must PROVIDE a welcoming and positive presence to all students, families, and visitors.
- IOLs must be present and on time without exception for all scheduled training sessions and work assignments. Throughout the program, iOLs will be expected to work session(s) as assigned - including some evenings and weekends. iOLs should avail themselves of all other responsibilities during this time.
- Work with a group of new international students throughout International Student Orientation (graduate and undergraduate)
- Lead small and large groups of new international students in discussions and activities
- Assist in the development and direction of social and recreational programming in partnership with the staff in the Office of International Student Services and the Office of Study Abroad
Orientation and Transfer Leader
About the role:
Leaders connect transfer students to the LIM community through transition activities and initiatives in the first six weeks each semester. Leaders will facilitate small group discussion, share information through presentations, and assist in advising and registration process.

Transfer Experience Coordinator
About the role:
The Transfer Experience Coordinator facilities successful transitions for incoming transfer students. The TEC connects transfer students to resources, helps students engage in resources, helps students engage in academic and social networks, and aid in the overall growth of incoming transfer students. The TEC will work a maximum of 10 hours per week to create and execute events.
TEC Role & Responsibilities:
- Exhibit a positive attitude and ability to motivate others
- Support transfer students as they transition into LIM college by coordinating (both virtual and on-ground) social, academic, and professional events (i.e. WOW, Campus Life Fair, TED Talk, Transfer Workshop 101, Tea Time, Midterm/Finals De-stress events)
- Create marketing materials to advertise events (flyers, SAVE THE DATES, invitations, compile college resources, etc.)
- Collaborate with various departments (CIS, Alumni Affairs, Study Abroad, Academic Advisement, SFS, Counseling and Accessibility) to plan and execute programs
- Provide a general write-up after events to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each program
- Work alongside Assistant Director of Student Life to plan and participate in Alternative Spring Break (virtually or on-ground). ASB is an opportunity for students to gain knowledge and hands-on experience with sustainable practices in fashion.
SYE Coordinator
About the role:
The Sophomore Year Experience Coordinator aims to empower sophomores to excel through providing opportunities to enhance academic and professional success, a sense of belonging, engagement with the LIM community, and leadership through extra and co-curricular programming.
SYE Role & Responsibilities:
- Coordinates (both virtual and on-ground) social, academic, and professional events for second-semester freshman and sophomore students in order to engage and retain students while they transition into their sophomore year of college at LIM
- Liaison between students and administrative offices and academic departments
- Collaborate with various departments (CIS, Alumni Affairs, Study Abroad, Academic Advisement, SFS, Counseling and Accessibility) to plan and execute programs
- Work alongside Assistant Director and External Relations and Alumni Affairs to develop and manage the Sophomore Mentoring Program
- Create marketing materials to promote events (flyers, SAVE THE DATES, invitations, brochures, college resources, etc.)
Student Activities Coordinator
About the role:
The Student Activities Coordinator will work closely with the Office of Student Life to support WOW and evening activities including the Weeks of Welcome programming and the Campus Life Fair. The SAC will create, monitor and execute a proposal for activities within a set budget and develop assessment tools to address the impact and effectiveness of activities.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Research and coordinate activities that support a variety of options including co-curricular, social, and recreational activities
- Inventory the activity supplies and determine if new materials are needed
- Develop an itinerary of activities for each week (consider which activities should be held on different nights and which should be scheduled together)
- Manage all activity changes during the program, especially participant changes for the purposes of keeping accurate attendance records
- Present updates and schedules to OSL staff and board representative at weekly meetings Prepare a summary report of the program upon completion

Resident Advisor (RA)
About the role:
The RA's primary responsibility is to act as a facilitator for the residence hall community at 蜜桃传媒在线观看入口. RAs represent the office of Student Affairs and serve as a role model for students.
Role & Responsibilities:

- All Resident Advisors are required to attend all mandatory trainings and in-services.
- Report all emergencies and serious situations to your supervisor and/or on-call staff.
- Attend all biweekly staff meetings and contribute to the efficient functioning of the hall.
- Be available for special staffing assignments such as orientation, open houses, etc. to meet the needs of your residents and the building community.
- Represent LIM and the Office of Student Affairs in the most positive and supportive manner.
