New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has decided to set up a new car manufacturing plant at Kharkhoda in Haryana's Sonipat district.

Permission has been granted to build a factory on 900 acres of land in Kharkhoda. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has made this clear, Hindustan Times Auto reports. Hindustan Times Auto reports that the new Maruti plant will be located on about 900 acres in Kharkhoda, Sonipat.

The CM said the factory would help the country's auto giant Maruti to boost production to boost the automobile sector. In addition, the government has given the company a Goods and Services Tax (SGST) reimbursement for 15 years. The company hopes to build another factory that will help Maruti Suzuki achieve its goals, including increasing production.

Earlier this month, Maruti Suzuki India had said that global shortages of electronic components would adversely affect production at two plants in Haryana and Suzuki, a parent company in Gujarat. Company officials said the situation was dynamic as production at both the factories in Haryana was expected to reach 85 percent of the normal roll-out in November.
