Maruti Suzuki has discontinued the Gypsy, a compact SUV, due to changes in pollution and safety standards. The Gypsies are proud to say that even the armed forces used it as their official vehicle for years.
Even today, there are many examples of beautifully modified Maruti Gypsies from different parts of the country. Available in the international market as the successor to the Gypsy, the Jimny has already been well received by foreign markets. The current star is a video of a modified Maruti Gypsy from North East Motors, though rumors are rife that it will arrive in India.
All In One Entertainment has shared a modified video of Maruti Gypsy on their YouTube channel. The video explains all the upgrades made to the SUV. Starting from the paint, the body of the vehicle is available in a premium satin gray color option.
The other components are matte black in color and enhance the sporty look. The combination of gray and matte black certainly looks great on an SUV. It is also worth noting that most of the panels installed in the gypsy are manufactured by North Is Motors in their own workshop.
On the front, the Gypsy stock front grille is replaced by a custom-made unit. The new grill is finished in a rectangular shape. Headlamps are integrated into it. The SUV is also gifted with a customized bumper. The bonnet of this gypsy has a hood scoop and is well ventilated.
Next to the headlamp and fender is a customized LED turn indicator. The fender flare installed in this SUV is also self-made by North East Motors. The Rector 4 × 4 stickers can be seen on the side profile. This is in reality the name of this gypsy task. ORVMs are aftermarket units. The SUV will now be available in 15-inch aftermarket alloy wheels and off-road tires.
The conversion of Gypsy's single cabin design into a double cabin design is also commendable. This also helps to further enhance the practicality of the vehicle. The modifiers also found a small luggage compartment with a metal lid on the back of the car.
Known as the Rector 4 × 4, the roof of this Maruti Gypsy is also a custom-made unit. A spare wheel is connected to the tailgate. A Jerry can holder is also placed on the left side behind the SUV. The rear bumper of this gypsy is also modified. The car comes with a premium look after the aftermarket LED tail lamps.
The dashboard is given a carbon fiber finish to do justice to the overall look of the car. The SUV also comes with customized seat covers. Equipped with a manual sunroof in front of the Gypsy and a moon roof in the rear for passengers.
The cup holders, armrests, and door panels were all done as part of the upgrade, which is also commendable. The video mentions that this is just a project they have done and can be modified to suit the needs of the customer. Also, the engine of this gypsy has not been altered.
