Cherukavu panchayat has taken a good example from Mathur panchayat in the Palakkad district. The Cherukavu Panchayat Administrative Committee has decided that those who come to the Panchayat office for various purposes should not address officials or members of the Board with words like 'Sir, Madam'.

The Board of Directors has decided to remove the words 'Sir, Madam' and 'Request and Request' in the correspondence for services received from the Gram Panchayat. Instead of the words 'request and request', the words 'claim and desire' should be used. With this, the old style of addressing became a legend in Cherukavu panchayat.

Panchayat President PK Abdullah Koya said the decision was taken during the 75 years of independence when the term was used to describe the use of the term 'Sir, Madam' during British rule.

PK Abdulla Koya said that any citizen who visits the Cherukavu panchayat office should no longer call the governing body or staff, including the president, 'Sir', and that the term "official language department" should be used instead and that the posts of officials should be addressed by name. The resolution brought by the President at the Gram Panchayat Administrative Committee meeting was passed unanimously.
